DESCRIPTION:Grab your lunch and head on over to the Chamber office on Wednesday\, March 28th from 12-1pm to learn about how to protect your business from fraud! Dr. Tom Wierich\, CMU Professor\, presents: \nAccounting CSI for Your Business! \n\n\n\nThe Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in their bi-annual Report to the Nation\, 2010\, on occupational fraud and abuse concludes that any business\, large or small\, loses approximately 5% of revenue (not net income) each year to fraud! How is your company combating this statistic? Just recently in the local community there has been reports of fraud at  a VFW in Shepherd and a fraud at a local attorney in Clare. The main focus of occupational fraud by fraudsters is the theft of cash or inventory. Dr. Wierich teaches a very popular Forensic Accounting & Fraud Investigation class here at CMU. In the recent past he has worked with his students from the class and they have worked with the Michigan State Police in a fraud investigation. They have also provided consultation to Union Township as well as registered student organizations on campus related to fraud. \n\n \n\nPlease give 24 hours notice of registration cancellations.  No refunds will be given to cancellations / no shows the day of the event.
