A Message from CMU President Robert Davies, PhD

Thank you for all of your support over the past several months. This is a time of enormous change for our community, and we could not weather this pandemic without your help. Central Michigan University is fortunate to call Mount Pleasant home.
As I announced last month, CMU will resume on-campus activities for the fall semester, and, to protect the health and safety of our entire university and community, we are updating our fall schedule. Our plan includes:
Our Emergency Management team is developing our phased return-to-campus plan — based on guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state leaders and health officials — which will include mandatory self-screenings for symptoms of COVID-19, the required use of masks or face coverings, protocols for isolating and quarantining when necessary, and implementing the standards for testing issued by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

- A phased move-in for residence halls and on-campus apartments beginning Thursday, Aug. 13. We will bring students back in waves to allow for maximum social distancing.
- On-campus classes will begin Monday, Aug. 17, and will end Wednesday, Nov. 25.
- We are still finalizing our plans for university events and activities, including commencement and homecoming, and I look forward to sharing additional information with you ahead of the fall semester.
