SBDC Deepens Export Assistance Capacity

Harrison, MI May 29, 2018 – Recently, Amy Fisher, SBDC Business Consultant, and Jose Navarrete, SBDC Growth Consultant, each successfully passed their respective examinations and can now formally be recognized as Certified Global Business Professionals (CGBP) by the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE) International.
The NASBITE CGBP certifies that a candidate is competent in the following four primary domains-- Global Business Management, Global Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and Trade Finance. Within each area are the following five “Threads”, which cross all four areas listed above-- Documentation, Legal and Regulatory Compliance, Intercultural Awareness, Technology, and Resources.
Fisher and Navarrete join Tony Fox, SBDC Regional Director, who has held the CGBP credential since 2013.

The Mid Michigan SBDC is better equipped than ever to help local companies develop export business plans, perform International Search Engine Optimization (SEO) analyzing the client's online presence in foreign target markets, assess financial conditions to ensure the strength of operations, and connect to an expansive network of export specialists and resources.
The Michigan Small Business Development Center provides counseling, business education, information-based planning, and technology commercialization services to Michigan’s new business ventures, existing small businesses, growing businesses, and innovators. The Mid Michigan SBDC Regional Center is located at the Mid Michigan Community College's Morey Technical Education Center in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
