MyMichigan Medical Center Mt. Pleasant is growing to meet the community’s current and future needs. MyMichigan Health recently announced  plans to expand the Medical Center by investing more than $860,000 to renovate space, expand outpatient services and align physician specialties to improve access, enhance the patient experience and better serve the local communities.  The project is expected to be fully complete by May 2025.

As health care continues to become more focused on outpatient care, MyMichigan Medical Center Mt. Pleasant is growing to meet the community’s current and future needs. MyMichigan Health leadership is proud to announce plans to expand the Medical Center by investing more than $860,000 to renovate space, expand outpatient services and align physician specialties to improve access, enhance the patient experience and better serve the local communities.

“We are very excited about this renovation and revitalization project that will enhance our Medical Center to continue to meet today’s needs and position us to evolve with future health care demands,” said Marita Hattem-Schiffman, F.A.C.H.E., C.P.M.S.M., president, MyMichigan Medical Centers in Alma, Clare and Mt. Pleasant. “We are committed to providing excellent care and keeping patients close to home while enhancing our 24/7 comprehensive health care services to residents throughout the area.”

An additional $2.3M is being invested in state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to complement the growth of imaging services. MRI is expected to be operational in late January 2025.

In addition to the expansion, $2.3M is being invested in state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to complement the growth of imaging services. MRI is expected to be operational in late January 2025.

“Adding on-site MRI ensures our providers and staff have access to the best imaging equipment available and our patients have an excellent experience,” said Jennifer Marar, MSHAL, director of operations, MyMichigan Medical Center Mt. Pleasant. “This state-of-the-art MRI offers a powerful magnet that provides highly detailed images for enhanced diagnostics, making it easier for providers to identify and pinpoint medical concerns and helps reduce the number of repeat exams. I am excited for these renovations because it offers our patients improved access, added convenience and a positive experience while receiving healthcare services close to their home.”

Approximately 10,000 square feet of existing space located on the south part of the Medical Center will be reconfigured. Key enhancements will include expanding outpatient registration to provide easier access and offer more privacy, enlarging the laboratory to offer four draw stations and a private draw room for adults and children who need to lie down. Additional revamped space will expand Walk-In Care and the waiting area and will relocate physician services for patient convenience and overall experience.

Sports medicine will relocate to the second floor, closer to orthopedics and rehabilitation services, for patient convenience. Ear, nose and throat services will also be relocated to the first floor, near the primary care offices.

Emergency care and the ambulatory surgery center will continue daily operations with little to no impact during the renovations. Individuals will still have access to 24/7 X-ray and lab services. Online scheduling for lab appointments is offered to streamline and reduce wait times and a self-service kiosk is available to expedite the registration process when arriving for lab testing.

Serving Mt. Pleasant and Isabella County communities since 2000, the growth of MyMichigan Medical Center Mt. Pleasant is in response to our community’s request for more high-quality health care services close to home.  In 2017, the Medical Center underwent a $32M expansion which added an ambulatory surgery center, emergency department, an observation unit and infusion center. The 2024-25 renovations will further enhance the facility and create space that continues to allow staff to care for patients in a modern environment that promotes health and healing. The renovations for MyMichigan Medical Center Mt. Pleasant are being managed by Three Rivers Corporation of Midland and expected to be fully complete by May 2025.
