New Lifelong Learning Classes at MMCC

Mid Michigan Community College (MMCC) now offers lifelong learning classes for popular interests and hobbies. Local experts teach these classes at our both of Mid’s conveniently located campuses. Upcoming classes are listed below.

Medicare 101  
March 12, Free, Mt. Pleasant Campus

Learn about Medicare from the experts! Medicare can be confusing. It is easy to miss important information and make a wrong choice that can cost you many dollars down the road. Farm Bureau Health Services of Michigan will help you understand the process. Be part of our Medicare Made Easy class in Mt. Pleasant and learn from the Medicare experts. Intermediate Artistic Welding                  
Starts April 3, $105, Harrison or Mt. Pleasant Campus

Students learn advanced MIG welding techniques, TIG welding methods, and develop the art of plasma cutting with expert instructor David Sanderson. During this five-week-long class, students develop the skills needed to further explore their artistic ideas by creating a work of art. Students have the option of taking the class on Tuesdays in Harrison or on Thursdays in Mt. Pleasant.

Home Buyer Education Seminar              
Starts April 10, $15, Harrison Campus

Learn to navigate the home buying process in this two-night seminar. Experts in home loans and home inspection join Teagen Lefere, Michigan State University-Extension Home Ownership Educator, in providing students with a fresh perspective on home buying and tips to avoid costly mistakes.

Discover Birding                                              
Starts April 19, $129, Mt. Pleasant Campus

Learn about a variety of bird species that call Michigan home. Students gain an understanding of bird-watching equipment, how to identify and attract birds to their property, keep track of sightings, and contribute to local birding projects. Class field trips include excursions to local areas to observe the behavior patterns of local bird species. Children, ages 12-17, can attend with a participating adult for an additional $65.

Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate?
May 22, $10, Harrison Campus

Whether planning ahead or making decisions when a loved one passes away, this workshop provides you with the valuable resources needed to help pass on personal possessions. Leave this workshop with the knowledge to manage estate planning for non-titled property.
