Under the auspices of the MyMichigan Health Foundation, MyMichigan Medical Center Alma has announced the return of the Swine Dining Pig Ticket Raffle. The raffle, now in its second year, aims to raise funds for local 4H programs and the Medical Center's Compassionate Needs Fund, which supports patients and families served by MyMichigan Health through targeted medical and community support services.

Tickets are on sale now for just $10 each. With only 1,000 tickets available, participants are encouraged to act quickly to secure their chance to win. The raffle drawing will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at 1 p.m. in the Hospital Entrance lobby of MyMichigan Medical Center Alma, where the announcement of the two lucky winners will be made.

"As a non-profit health system, we know the importance of addressing local needs through meaningful programs," said Becky Church, director, MyMichigan Health Foundation. "The Compassionate Needs Fund provides critical support to help patients and families overcome challenges that extend beyond traditional healthcare and combining this effort with our local 4H programs creates an even greater impact."

Trisha Grover and Tammy Story, MyMichigan Medical Center Alma employees who spearheaded the event last year, could hardly contain their enthusiasm. Grover stated, "The Swine Dining Pig Raffle is a great way for people to give back and show their commitment to improving lives. This event showcases the generosity of our community, and we are proud to see it continue to grow for the second year." Story added, "We are thrilled to host this raffle again and to help directly support both our Compassionate Needs Fund and 4H programs. Every ticket purchased not only provides participants with an exciting opportunity to win but also contributes to vital programs that strengthen our community."

Initiated by generous donations from the annual Love Light Trees campaign, the Compassionate Needs Fund is dedicated to addressing the vital needs of patients and families that are not covered by insurance. This includes support for medical services, at-risk community member programs, and outreach such as pre-diabetes education, childbirth education, breastfeeding support, baby care boot camp, child infant CPR, and tobacco cessation counseling.
