Position Title | MANAGER / COURSE SURVEYING & REPORTING |
Position Summary | This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, preparation, and execution of support services for course surveys and reporting at Central Michigan University. Additional responsibilities include managing the University’s student End of Course Survey administration, developing content for web resources for system users, providing workshops and system consultations for system users (including faculty and designated administrators), and ongoing and time-limited projects. In addition, the manager monitors, responds to, and resolves student, faculty, and administrator requests for assistance. This position also provides support and management for course survey system-related issues and concerns. |
Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree. Three years of professional experience. Experience interpreting, analyzing, applying, and reporting research and statistical information. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment. Demonstrated excellent communication, organizational, time management, and problem-resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment. Proficiency with basic computer software (including Microsoft Office). Proficiency with survey systems (e.g., Qualtrics, Watermark). Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. |
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree. Experience in higher education, working with faculty and academic administrators. Knowledge/familiarity with academic and student learning processes. College or university-level teaching experience. Experience in survey development. Experience working with multiple forms of educational assessment and/or evaluation. Knowledge of specialized higher education technology and web-based systems. |
Duties & Responsibilities | Responsible for the University’s course survey system for the End of Course system (ECS), including preparing semester-based survey projects and supporting applicable administrator, instructor, and student use. Communicates expectations, resources, and other relevant information to faculty and administrators. Monitors daily inflow of system courses; works with CMU OIT and Watermark Support to correct identified system timing, course, and user anomalies. Remains current with various system updates, enhancements, and integration. Responds to and addresses user inquiries, questions, and trouble-shooting needs by students, faculty, and administrators beyond general business hours, during peak survey times as necessary. Provides unit-level support using survey software (e.g., Qualtrics). Provides individual and group survey system consultation support and workshops for alignment with required standards, best practices, custom questions, reporting, and learning outcomes. Develops, updates, and coordinates content for relevant components for the Curriculum and Instructional Support (CIS) webpages, CMU Knowledge Base, and other resource repositories. Coordinates other activities relating to course survey functions and reporting as needed (e.g., facilitate the gathering of materials and information to be used in activities such as course updates, program review, Faculty Review/Promotion/Tenure, licensure, and accreditation reports). Supports university-wide initiatives where appropriate. Serves as the backup administrator to additional Watermark Systems. Performs other duties as assigned. |
