Job Description
The Director of Communications and Marketing in the College of Business Administration (CBA) leads the marketing and communication efforts for the college. The Director is a strategic, creative and forward-thinking leader who is responsible for developing and executing communication efforts that will advance the brand of the College of Business Administration. As a member of the college’s senior leadership team, the Director collaborates with college leadership, Admissions, University Communications, and other key stakeholders to plan, develop, and implement marketing strategies, communication plans, and student recruitment efforts. This position serves as an experienced leader with a proven ability to be innovative, collaborative, and lead others.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or related field.
Five years of related professional experience.
Three years of professional experience leading a team.
Experience with website and newsletter production and message development.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic marketing and communications plans and the creativity to produce dynamic content that will relate to and engage target audiences.
Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to leverage data to develop, execute, and improve effective marketing and communications strategies.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders and teams on and off campus.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, manage multiple initiatives, and direct others in a complex, dynamic environment.
Ability to lead and motivate staff to produce high-level, brand-driven content.
Familiarity and experience with technologies, systems, and tools that support traditional, and digital marketing and communications processes and initiatives.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation(s).
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or related field.
Experience in higher education or similar industry.
Duties & Responsibilities Develops and implements a comprehensive marketing communication strategy that is aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of the college and university, ensuring and enhancing consistent brand identity and messaging to internal and external stakeholders.
Leads all undergraduate enrollment initiatives for CBA by collaborating with appropriate college and university stakeholders to execute all marketing, communications, and yield initiatives to meet or exceed enrollment goals for the college.
Collaborates with graduate program directors, Admissions, and University Communications in the recruitment of international and domestic students for the college’s online and on campus graduate programs.
Creates and executes a comprehensive internal and external content management strategy across all relevant platforms — including email, website and social media — that effectively and efficiently meets communication goals for target audiences.
Develops and strategically amplifies College of Business Administration stories across campus and externally.
Supports the marketing and communications needs of departments, centers, offices, student organizations, and other key internal stakeholders within the College of Business Administration.
Supports college leadership in the development and delivery of annual updates, reports, presentations, and other communications to internal and external stakeholders.
Monitors and analyzes communication metrics to leverage analytics and ensure that marketing strategies are effective and are demonstrating a positive return on investment for the college.
Leads, develops, and motivates two professional staff members on the marketing and communications team to deliver high quality deliverables in support of college objectives and goals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
