Job Description
This position will assist the head coach in coaching, planning, organizing, directing and implementing all phases of a Division I Wrestling program.

Responsibilities include assisting with all practices, training and conditioning sessions, dual meet and tournament administration, recruiting, summer camp organization and other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

The assistant coach will work closely with support staff for peak performance of the student-athletes as well as their development and academic success.

The Assistant Coach will also develop and maintain alumnae relations and organize alumnae events; and assist in the day-to-day operations including but not limited to NCAA paperwork, academic monitoring, travel plans and itineraries, equipment and budget management, practice planning, and all other duties assigned by the head coach consistent with the mission of the department.

The Assistant coach is responsible for adhering to all department and university policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Mid-American Conference and the NCAA.

This position is a full-time, 12-month appointments with full benefit package. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree by date of appointment.
  • Collegiate and/or Olympic wrestling experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to following NCAA rules and regulations, and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree.
  • Division I coaching and recruiting experience.
